Before

This picture highlights a kitchen ready for a new layout and refresh. It presents a little dark, and could use brightening. There is a peninsula that makes an L that could be changed.
This fireplace is functional but in need of a refresh especially to be cohesive with the rest of the updates happening in the home. Currently, the surround has more of a mosaic tile look.

after

This kitchen is magazine worthy. Featuring beautiful finishes, some open shelving for visual interest, unique lighting and completely new layout.
This fireplace went from having a more modern tile surround to a painted black brick with a natural wood mantle. The look matches the rest of the finishes and color schemes of the home.

Paint Colors Used:

Board + Batten:  Alabaster (SW7008)

Pro tip: Forget the small cans of paint.  Samplize is a better way to test paint! Simply select your paint color samples and you'll receive them quickly – often overnight! The samples are large and safely stick to your wall. No more tiny samples that are hard to see! Check it out HERE.

Project Recap

This project was all about giving the home a fresh, updated feel while working with many of the existing elements the homeowners already loved. The main goals were to refresh the paint throughout the space, repair failing drywall tape on the vaulted ceilings, and add dimension to a large open-concept wall.

One unique challenge on this project was the staircase railing. The homeowners had recently installed new flooring, which required changes to the railing system. When we arrived, it had been partially torn apart and needed a complete refresh to bring everything back together cohesively. We upgraded the railing with iron balusters and finished it in white, tying it beautifully into the new board and batten detail and overall design.

One of our favorite parts of this transformation was seeing how impactful a refresh can be without changing major elements like lighting or wood tones. By focusing mainly on paint, texture, and architectural detail, the entire space feels brighter, cleaner, and more elevated while still maintaining the warmth and character of the home.
